Rocket League
Rocket-powered cars against an oversized football: boost, jump and flip the ball into the net inside a walled 3D arena.
This is a browser build of the car-football format Psyonix made famous - a WebGL arena game rather than the full retail release. Cars chase a ball far bigger than they are around an enclosed pitch with a goal at each end, using boost for speed and jumps for height, and matches are short.
The interesting part is aerials: a car that jumps and then boosts can fly, so the ball spends as much time in the air as on the floor and a lot of goals come from meeting it off a wall. There's far less around the edges than the commercial game - no ranked ladder, no real customisation - but the core physics idea survives the translation intact.
Controls
WASD or arrows to drive, Space to jump, Shift or Ctrl to boost, mouse for camera
Tips
- Don't ball-chase. Hang back a few car lengths and take the rebound instead of the first bounce.
- Save boost for getting back to your own goal, not for driving in a straight line at full speed.
- Start an aerial early - you need to be at height before the ball arrives, not after it lands.
