World's Hardest Game 2
The 2008 sequel stretches to fifty levels and adds keys and doors, so now you're routing the maze as well as dodging the blue balls.
Same red square, same blue circles, same yellow coins, but fifty new levels rather than thirty, and keys. Doors block the route until you fetch the matching key, which turns a pure dodging exercise into a question of order: which half of a level you clear first decides how many times you have to cross the dangerous middle.
It's generally reckoned harder than the original, with denser patterns and longer layouts, softened a little by checkpoints and a tutorial mode sitting on the main menu for anyone arriving without having played the first. The between-level insults survive intact. It took over a decade before anyone cleared the whole thing without dying.
Controls
Arrow keys or WASD to move; keys are collected by touching them.
Tips
- Plan the key order before you move. A wrong first pickup can double the crossings you have to survive.
- Checkpoints exist in this one, so reach one before attempting the section that keeps killing you.
- Coins are still mandatory, so check whether one sits behind a door before committing to a route.
