OvO
A minimalist precision platformer built entirely out of movement tricks: wall jumps, dives, slides and ledge grabs.
OvO is a stick figure, a white background and a very deep movement system. There is no combat and no collectibles; every level is a route from the start to the flag, and the difficulty is purely in executing the movement.
What makes it stand out is how much vocabulary it teaches. Dive to build speed, slide under gaps, wall jump to climb, cancel a dive into a jump for extra height, grab a ledge at the apex. By the later levels all of those are required in sequence without stopping, and the game becomes a speedrun of its own tutorial.
Controls
Arrow keys or WASD to move and jump, down arrow to dive and slide
Tips
- Dive to go fast and slide to keep that speed. Walking is almost never the intended solution to a gap.
- Wall jumps alternate, so climb a shaft by jumping into each wall rather than holding a direction.
- Momentum carries between moves, so a level that looks impossible usually needs you to arrive faster, not jump better.
