Rolling Sky
A ball rolls down a neon track to the beat: slide left and right past saws, walls and gaps that all land on the music.
Rolling Sky is Cheetah Mobile's rhythm runner from 2016. A ball moves forward along a narrow floating track by itself; the only control you have is sliding it left and right. Everything in the way - saw blades, sliding walls, collapsing tiles, gaps - is placed on the beat of the level's soundtrack, so the music is effectively the timing chart.
Each level shows a completion percentage and has checkpoints you unlock as you get further, plus diamonds and shields scattered along the route. One touch sends you back to the last checkpoint. Progress comes from memorising a level rather than reacting to it, which is the appeal and also why later stages take dozens of attempts.
Controls
Mouse drag, or left and right arrows or A and D, to slide the ball sideways
Tips
- Listen more than you watch - obstacles land on the beat, so the music tells you when to move.
- Grab shields early; one absorbs a hit and is the difference between a checkpoint and a restart.
- Skip diamonds sitting off the safe line; finishing the level beats collecting on the way down.
