Bad Piggies
Build a contraption out of crates, engines and balloons, then watch it fall apart on the way to the finish.
Rovio released Bad Piggies in 2012 as the other side of Angry Birds, and it is the better designed game of the two. You are given a box of parts and a stretch of hostile terrain, and you assemble a vehicle that has to survive the trip.
The pleasure is that it is a sandbox pretending to be a puzzle. There is always an intended solution, but the physics is honest enough that a stupid-looking machine held together by hope will often work just as well. Three stars per level reward speed, parts used and collecting the skull box, and those three rarely want the same vehicle.
Controls
Mouse to drag parts onto the grid, click to start, Space or click to fire engines
Tips
- Build low and wide. A tall contraption tips over on the first bump and almost never recovers.
- Engines fire once, so place them pointing where you need speed rather than at the start line.
- Three stars usually needs three different builds. Do not try to collect everything in a single run.
