Bloons Tower Defense 1
Ninja Kiwi's 2007 original: five towers, one track, fifty rounds, and two upgrades apiece to stop black and white bloons.
The first Bloons Tower Defense, from 2007, is where Ninja Kiwi welded the Bloons series onto the tower defense format. There is one track, one difficulty, fifty rounds, 40 lives and $650 to start with. Your options are the Dart Tower, Tack Tower, Ice Tower, Bomb Tower and Super Monkey, each with two upgrades you can buy in any order, except the Super Monkey which only has one.
By later standards it is tiny. The nastiest thing the game sends is a black or white bloon, there are no blimps, no camo and no economy towers. It is also famously beatable with nothing but dart monkeys, which the sequel later teased players about by adding lead bloons specifically to break that habit.
Controls
Mouse only: click a tower, place it, click it again to buy upgrades
Tips
- Dart monkeys alone genuinely can clear this one. The lead bloons that punish that idea only arrive in BTD2.
- Tack towers earn their money on corners and loops, where bloons pass through the ring twice.
- Save for one Super Monkey rather than thinning your cash out. It carries the last ten rounds by itself.
