Bloons Tower Defense 3

MOABs, ceramics and eight tracks arrive, along with the Spike-O-Pult, Monkey Beacon and two upgrades per path instead of one.

Released in September 2008, BTD3 is the entry where the series takes its modern shape. Upgrades split into two paths with two upgrades each, so a tower has four instead of two. Difficulty and track become separate choices, there are eight tracks with four locked behind the first set, and Freeplay lets you push past round 50 towards 150.

Two new towers arrive: the Spike-O-Pult, which flings a spiked ball down a line of bloons, and the Monkey Beacon, which buffs everything in its radius and later became the Monkey Village. More importantly, so do ceramics and the first MOAB. The MOAB ignores ice and glue, takes 200 hits and ends your game outright if it reaches the exit.

Controls

Mouse only; hotkeys select towers and clicking Start sends the next round
