Fireboy & Watergirl 2
The Light Temple swaps platforming for optics: aim beams of light through mirrors to open doors and move platforms.
The second Fireboy and Watergirl game keeps the two-character split and replaces most of the button-and-lever machinery with light. Coloured beams travel in straight lines until something bends them, and your job is to get red light onto red receivers and blue light onto blue ones by pushing mirrors into the right positions.
That changes how the levels read. In the Forest Temple you looked for a platform; here you trace a line backwards from the receiver to the emitter and ask what is in the way. The characters also block beams themselves, which the later stages use against you more than once.
Controls
Arrow keys move Fireboy; WASD moves Watergirl. Push mirrors by walking into them
Tips
- Work backwards from the receiver. Find where the beam needs to arrive, then figure out which mirror can send it there.
- Your own characters block light. If a beam dies for no visible reason, check whether one of you is standing in it.
- Mirrors usually only need a single nudge. If you are pushing one a long way, you have probably picked the wrong mirror.
