Fireboy & Watergirl 4
The Crystal Temple adds teleport portals. Step into a crystal, come out of its twin, and short levels get long fast.
The Crystal Temple is the fourth game in Oslo Albet's series and the one that breaks the single-screen assumption. Coloured crystals come in linked pairs, and walking into one moves that character instantly to the other. Suddenly a button on the far side of a wall is reachable, and a route that looked like a dead end is a shortcut.
It also makes it much easier to strand yourself. Sending Fireboy through a portal that lands him on the wrong side of a lava pool with nothing to stand on is a restart, and the later stages build layouts where the order you use the portals in is the entire puzzle.
Controls
Arrow keys move Fireboy; WASD moves Watergirl. Walk into a crystal to teleport
Tips
- Find the exit of a portal before you enter it. The pairs are colour-matched and usually both visible on screen.
- Send the character who is not holding a button through first, so the other one can still open the way back.
- If a level looks unsolvable, you are probably meant to use one portal twice rather than each portal once.
