Fireboy & Watergirl 3
The Ice Temple makes the floor slippery. Every run and jump carries momentum now, so stopping where you meant to is the actual puzzle.
The Ice Temple keeps the two-character format and changes the physics underneath it. Ice panels remove most of your friction, so a character who starts moving keeps moving, and a jump that would have landed cleanly in the earlier games now slides straight off the far edge into whatever is below.
The level design leans into it deliberately. Buttons are placed so you have to arrive already slowing down, and several stages require you to use the slide rather than fight it, launching one character across a gap they could never jump. Expect to fail a lot of stages by overshooting rather than by mistiming.
Controls
Arrow keys move Fireboy; WASD moves Watergirl. Tap rather than hold on ice
Tips
- Tap the direction key instead of holding it on ice. Short inputs are the only way to stop where a button actually is.
- Start slowing well before the edge. The distance you need is roughly double what it looks like the first few times.
- Some gaps are meant to be slid across, not jumped. If a jump keeps falling short, try building speed on the approach instead.
