Xform's rally time-trialler: nine circuits through desert, snow and forest where overusing your nitro literally blows the engine.
Rally Point 5 is a 3D rally driving game from Xform, and it's a time trial rather than a race - you drive alone against a target time across nine circuits set in desert, snowbound and wooded terrain. Beat the clock on one and the next unlocks, along with more of the nine cars, each of which handles noticeably differently.
The hook is heat. Nitro gives you a large speed boost, but hold it too long and the engine overheats and the car explodes, ending the run on the spot. So the game becomes a rhythm of short bursts on straights and controlled drifts through corners, cooling down in between. There is no multiplayer; it is entirely you against the stopwatch.
Controls
WASD or arrows to drive, Shift or X to drift, Space or Z for nitro (varies by host)
Tips
- Tap nitro in short bursts on straights only - a long hold overheats the engine and ends the run.
- Aim for a straight drift exit; sliding sideways looks fast but you get back on power much later.
- Each unlocked car handles differently - retry a failed circuit in another one before grinding the same line.
