Subway Surfers
Jake tags a train, an inspector and his dog give chase, and you swipe him between three tracks of rolling stock until he hits something.
SYBO and Kiloo's endless runner, out since 2012 and still the most played thing of its kind. You sprint down a railway line, swapping between three tracks and jumping or rolling past trains, barriers and signal poles, with a guard and his dog a stride behind you the whole way. One solid hit ends the run.
Speed climbs steadily the longer you last, and that's the real difficulty: the obstacle patterns don't get meaner, you just get less time to read them. Coins buy characters and hoverboards, jetpacks fire you above the track for a few seconds of free distance, and the World Tour updates re-skin the city every few weeks.
Controls
Arrow keys to swipe left, right, jump and roll; Space drops a hoverboard.
Tips
- Get onto train roofs when you can. Up there the only hazards are signs, and they telegraph early.
- Save the hoverboard for high speed; it eats one crash and buys you time to re-read the lanes.
- Swipe down to land early after a jump instead of floating into an obstacle you can already see.
