Unfair Mario

A normal-looking Mario level where every safe block is a trap. The only way through is to have already died there.

Unfair Mario belongs to the trap-level genre that Flash games perfected. The level looks completely ordinary, and that is the joke: blocks fall away when you stand on them, invisible spikes appear mid-jump, and ceilings drop on the exact square you were aiming for.

None of it is reactable. The traps are placed specifically to punish the correct instinct, so the only route forward is dying to each one and remembering it. It keeps a death counter, which is clearly meant as a taunt. Treated as a memory puzzle rather than a platformer it is genuinely funny; treated as a platformer it is infuriating by design.
